Gather.com Blocks Access of Pakistan-Based Users to its Website
Social networking website Gather.com has blocked Pakistani users from using it and internet users in Pakistan are not able to access the site anymore. The ban on Pakistani users by the website is being attributed to copious amount of spam posted on the site by Pakistani users.

According to Gather’s Support team, much of the spam posted on Gather comes from Pakistan. Therefore, it is one of the countries whose residents have been cloked from using Gather. The blockage of access has been in effect for about three weeks now. It is not known what other countries have been denied access to Gather website.
Pakistani users but do receive notifications and updates from the Gather site in their mailbox, showing that user accounts of Pakistani residents at the site have not been terminated. Gather’s sister sites Skyword and SMAC are also not accessible now to Pakistan-based users, apparently for the same reason.
