The governing bodies of international and European soccer will not recognize the new administrator of the troubled Polish soccer federation.
FIFA and UEFA say the suspension of the Polish board was not legitimate. The suspension was ordered Monday by a court-appointed chief for allegedly failing to deal with corruption in the domestic league.
FIFA and UEFA issued a joint statement Tuesday saying they continue to recognize the federation’s current leadership as the only legitimate authority to run soccer in Poland.
Poland is to co-host the European Championship with Ukraine in 2012.
