FC Dallas has fired coach Steve Morrow two days after an embarrassing 5-1 loss to David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The club planned a news conference Tuesday to discuss the decision. Assistant Marco Ferruzzi was named interim head coach.

In Sunday’s loss to the Galaxy, FC Dallas allowed four goals in 14 minutes in front of a rare sellout crowd at home. It was the third loss in four games for a team that wasn’t won since April 20, when it beat Chivas USA 2-0.

FC Dallas is fourth in the Western Conference at 2-3-3 (nine points). Morrow was hired after the 2006 season and went 13-12-5 last year.
