Fathers of yesterday, today and tomorrow

It is true that fathers of yester years were very arrogant, and very dominant.If they say something it must be accepted with out a whimper and they should not be argued upon. They often treat their wives as though these wives have no minds of their own, and they should be at their (husbands) beck and call. They expect their wives to be programmed robots, and the children are not expected to indulge in criticizing any one. These people expect their eldest sons to shoulder the entire burden of the family and carry all the blame and brick bats that fall on them.

But today's fathers are friendly and talk to their children as though they are friends. What ever the children wants is given with happiness and these fathers listen to their children and they never force their views on their children. On the whole the present day fathers are highly adaptive and understanding.

If today's fathers are like this what about tomorrow's fathers? I feel tomorrow's fathers will behave with their children in such a manner that the children will be motivated to discuss everything even their privacy with their fathers. These fathers may make good role models for their children.
