Father Kills Girlfriend And Baby Daughter Because She Wasn't A Boy
When things don't go our way, some of us deal with the situation or walk away, others resort to violence. Some in the most deplorable of ways. 13-week-old Ema was murdered by her father because she was a girl and he happened to want a boy. He also shot and killed his girlfriend of 9 years, the mother of Ema, before fleeing Seattle, Washington. Daniel Hicks, 29, apparently wasn't thrilled when his 28-year-old girlfriend, Jennifer Morgan, got pregnant. He was even more upset when it wasn't a boy. I know many men would prefer to have boys- I suppose visions of playing basketball are far more appealing than playing with dolls- but one has no control over what gender your child is going to be, at least not yet. And if you happen to have a girl, then you need to live with that. If Hicks was so opposed to having a girl he should have just left, a much better option than killing his own baby. Leaving, though morally wrong, is at least more forgivable. And apparently he had the opportunity to leave since, it seems, Morgan wanted out of the relationship.

Family members said Morgan,28, had also asked her boyfriend of nine years to leave after a series of rows.
So why not just take her up on that, rather than execute both of them in cold blood? Ema shot 7 times, her mother Jennifer 12, their bodies found in Jennifer's grandmother's basement, where they happened to live.
Police said a .45 calibre weapon had been used and Hicks would have had to reload the gun at least twice to fire a total of 21 shots.
Before he disappeared after murdering mother and child, he left a note addressed to his brother who is in the military and currently deployed in Iraq.
In the note Hicks wrote: 'I'm sorry. ... I hope your stuff is not stolen by the police. I am sick, like Grandpa. Sorry cannot fix life. Please live for yourself and not others.'Do not cry.'
Do not cry? He must be deluded. Who on earth would cry for child killer Hicks? He deserves no sympathy for the harsh sentence he will get, once caught. Either life in prison or the death penalty. Apparently domestic violence and murder runs in the family.
Police said the reference to 'Grandpa' was a 1983 killing. Hicks' grandfather, Dean Hicks killed his wife, Lona Hicks, and then himself.
Too bad he didn't follow in Grandpa's footsteps by offing himself. At least it would save the taxpayers money. But hopefully he will be caught soon, though the police aren't always that lucky.
