Authorities say they’ve captured an ex-con suspected of killing eight people in two states. Lieutenant Bill Baker is with the St. Louis Area Major Case Squad. He said Nicholas T. Sheley, 28, was captured Tuesday in Granite City, about 10 miles north of St. Louis. He didn’t immediately have more information.
A spokeswoman with the Granite City police department says Sheley is in custody there. But she declined to give details.
The FBI launched a manhunt for Sheley, who they said was an armed and dangerous ex-con suspected of killing eight people in Illinois and Missouri.
