Eraz-ex and Dendrite Addiction in Assam !

A small town in Assam, Dergaon, has seen a steep increase in addiction of the stationery item ‘Eraz-ex’ and ‘Dendrite’ among the college students putting the administration in jittery.

Sale of this item is considered lucrative since it carries a high rate of margin prompting the ever hungry shops to cash into the demand of the students. The bad news is the stage machinery was completely caught unaware when a large quantity of empty bottles of the said fluid was recovered in the playground premises of Dergaon Kamal Dowerah College very recently.

The principal of the college Dr S. Ullah disclosed, the use of Eraz-ex, Dendrite, and in some case eating of Gutkha, was rampant among the college students. The college officials also said that despite their best effort to curb the menace they haven’t been successful in their endeavor.

One of the noted physician of Dergaon , Dr. Gunottam Bora suspected the presence of the ingredient ‘toluene’ which might act as a alcoholic addiction. Also, there must be some other substance other than ‘toluena’ i.e. methyl benzene in Eraz-ex , the students to succumb to this addiction noted Khirdhar Barauh, a scientist by profession.

All Assam Students Union ( AASU) the political watchdog active in Assam monitoring the activities of students has called for stern action against the culprits and to ban the item in college premises.
