Education Is Un-Islamic- Taliban Thugs Blow Up Boys' School In Pakistan

I was always aware that the Taliban targeted schools for females because women in Afghanistan and the tribal areas of Pakistan (and elsewhere, for that matter) have no worth other than to remain barefoot and pregnant. Keeping them ignorant makes it easier to control them, so the Taliban and their ilk have often blown up schools for girls and thrown acid in their faces to try and intimidate them into not attending school. They are continuously threatened, but in spite of this many of the girls courageously continue to attend classes. I had no idea, on the other hand, that they were also targeting boys' schools. Taliban thugs apparently feel that any education is dangerous, because they blew up a school for boys in the Mohmand tribal region in Pakistan. With this latest addition, there are now 58 schools that have been demolished in the past few years.

According to reports, militants detonated explosives planed around the Government Model Boys School located in Safi teshil of Upper Mohmand Agency.

A Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman later claimed responsibility for the attack.

So does the Taliban now deem that all education, for males and females, somehow un-Islamic? What on earth is wrong with these people? How do they expect people to read the Qu'ran if they aren't taught how to read and write in school? And isn't that one of the main religious duties of every Muslim? Perhaps they feel that to keep the youth in ignorance will allow them to exert more control over them, and in this way they will continue to breed militants.

Ignorant people preventing others from getting an education to keep those people in ignorance. How pathetic is that?!
