East Timor's president returns home

President Jose Ramos-Horta has returned to East Timor after recovering from an attempt on his life two months ago.
Thousands of supporters were at the airport to welcome the popular Nobel laureate as his plane touched down early Wednesday morning.
Ramos-Horta has been recuperating in the northern Australian city of Darwin since February, when mutinous soldiers shot him outside his home in East Timor’s capital, Dili. Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao escaped an ambush on his motorcade the same day.
The attacks followed more than a year of political turmoil and violence in the tiny nation.
