Dog Poo Made Paris Loose Olympics

It was way back in 2001 when the Paris former environment head Yves Contassot had admitted that Paris has become the dog poo capital of the world.

So when the fashion capital of the world was in running and favourite to host 2012 Olympics perhaps the above reality hit the Olympic Committee which voted for London by 54 to 50 votes.

The canine population is increasing day by day and with them it is their poo which has made the pavements of Paris soiled by their poo and than there was safety factor also. People tend to slip on the dog fouled pavement.

It seems that Japanese used this fact as an argument against Paris hosting the 2012 Olympics. Mr. Contassat was responsible for keeping the streets of Paris clean between 2001 and 2008.He bemoaned the fact that because of this smelly and dirty problem there were complaints all the time and also they were mocked by the world for not being able to keep their pavements clean.

But now situation has improved , what with motorised pooper-scoopers and high fines, the pavements of Paris are walkable now.
