Mankind's very survival depends on the future exploration of space, said NASA chief Michael Griffin, marking the 50th anniversary of the US space agency. Unlike the 15th century explorers, the modern day voyagers are not sure what might benefit the humankind after discovering new lands. However, in the long run, Michael Griffin believes "human populations must diversify if it wishes to survive."
