Do The Present Times Indian Film Singers Lack Real Talent ?

LIFESTYLE. .

Though one appreciates the songs sung by Kailash Kher, Kunal Ganjawalla, Mohit Chauhan and other new comers, let's not forget the fact that they lack the depth and range of K L Saigal, Talat, Kishore and Mukesh. Why it's that their songs fade away from our memories in few days even as they are bombarded from TV, Radio and Satellite channels all the time? Without sounding harsh, let me state that commercial bent of mind and lack of 'riyaz' (practice of singing) prevents these fresh voices from providing an eternal touch to their songs.

The songs sung by yesteryear singers are the ones that we love to hum in isolation whenever we are marred by troubles like "Aye Dil Mughe Aisi Zagah Le Chal Jaha Koi Na Ho". Even while recollecting good old days we love to croon hit numbers of golden period like' Jaane Keha Gaye Wo Din'. When we are in happy mood even then the songs that first surface in our mind belong to sixties like "Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandni Me Hum Tum Mile To Veerane Mein Bhi Aa Jayegi Bahar".

Interestingly, while celebrating something like child's birthday the song that we love to sing belongs to golden era 'Hum Bhi Agar Bachhe Hote Naam Hamara Hota Bubloo Dabloo Khane Ko Milte Laddu Aur Duniya Kehtee Happy Birhday To You'. Aren't they indicative of fact that something is missing in songs of our times? What's that?

Is it lack of "Moushiki" or lack of "Shayari"? Or are people of times lack real emotions and, therefore, not able to write evergreen verses and compose haunting tunes? After all, what's the missing element? Is it lack of sincere effort on the part of lyricists, music directors and singers?

However, having said that, names like KK, Shreya Ghosal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Madhu Shree are trying best to deliver foot-thumping melodious numbers.
