Devdas's Paro and Chandramukhi on role flip-flops!
Well it seems that Bollywood has crashed very seriously into remakes and parodies of older flicks this season. With the Ram Gopal Varma's modern day version of 'Sholay' topping the waiting list, another flick that enters the remake world is Sudhir Misra's 'Aur Devdas'. The flick claims interesting flip-flops with classic characters playing modern day practical roles of brokers and politicians!

To portray these unconventional roles Misra has roped in Lara Dutta and Soha Ali Khan to play Paro and Chandramukhi. While Lara gives this flick a flag-off, Soha is yet to sign on the dotted line. While Mishra's Chandramukhi is not a dancer but an investment banker, Paro evolves into a politician than a lovelorn girl. The film is supposed to be a coarse political satire.

According to a source both Lara and Soha were not the first choices for their roles. Mishra wanted Rani Mukerji to play Paro but this could not be materialised. Whereas Esha Deol could not take up the film as Chandramukhi because she did not have enough dates the makers wanted.
Well, do you think that Soha's innocent face would match the politician's look? Let us wait and watch who turns out to be the real Devdas at the end, the director or the audience!
