Deepa Mehta's 'Water' nominated for Critic's Choice Awards
Canadian director Deepa Mehta's film 'Water' has been nominated for best foreign language film for the 12th annual Critic's Choice Awards, given by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

Mehta's Water, a 2005 film focuses upon the difficult lives of a group of widows living in an impoverished institution for widows in India. Water won three Genie awards in Canada and has been critically applauded on the international silver screen.
Deepa Mehta graduated from Delhi University, India, with a degree in philosophy and migrated to Canada in 1973. Mehta is best known for her elements trilogy, all of which are set in India and Water is also a trilogy starring Lisa Ray and John Abraham.
