'Da Ali G' Prince

There is not shortage of comedic material to draw from Saudi princes. The incompetent, sex-crazed, illiterate and uncivilized princes of the House of Saud have become notorious for the antics. The whole Arab world knows the hypocrisy of such men.

They preach piousness while in Saudi Arabia then head for the bars and brothels of London in their private jets. Besides being repulsive, they are crazy stupid. A shame for the decent Saudis whom have to live under such thugs.

The Jordanians have it a lot better. Although their monarchy can also be less than appealing at times, it does not have the excesses of the Saudis. That is mostly due to lack of oil money and the fact that Laventine Arabs are more cultured than their Arabian counterparts.

But the Hashemite monarch in Amman has its moments. The King is known to be an avid fan of Play Station and he recently announced that his young son, not in high school yet, will be the heir to the throne.

And as with the Saudi Kings, King Abduallah also has buffoonish family members; such at Prince Da Ali G. Who've never heard of him? But he is to famous. In fact, he had his own show on HBO. Well, not really, but he likes to think so:

... during the making of Brüno!, while Sacha Baron Cohen was wandering the Middle East dressed as a gay Austrian fashion journalist, he visited Jordan and interviewed the Prime Minister.

Then the authorities found out that he was neither Austrian nor a journalist and all hell broke loose.

The Jordanian PM demanded to know why “that Zionist comedian” had been allowed into his house. Then the Royal Family intervened. Not the King, who was perhaps away at a Trekkie conference, but his half-brother. Prince Ali is a huge Ali G fan and apparently regards himself as “the real Ali G”.

Can you imagine an idiot whom fancies himself a "real" fictional character, and a stupid one [in a positive nor normative sense] at that actually has great influence in running an entire country.
