Crop Change Management in Agriculture
While every day pressure and economic scene being dynamic, no one can deny that Indian farmer’s community is going to face heat of changes. Indian farmers by and large so far adopted to follow what is safe for them. But it no longer holds ground as pressure is mounting on small farmers. During my recent trips to hinterland in western UP I noticed that lot small farmers switched over for lintels like Arhar, which we hardly used to see in past. I also noticed that Potato main cash crop in Districts like Ferozabad, Farrukhbad and Agra region also going under change crop pattern. I think to some extent this a welcome change. I can not definitely say whether it is result of any policy that the UP Govt. adopted or for that reason any research institutions etc. Crop change management is very vital for the life cycle and preservation of soil.

This becomes more significant since soil is continuously being eroded of its value. Villagers are now under pressure to get the maximum yield to see that they are able to meet two ends of the life. They are trying all sorts of solutions. I think our Govt. will do well if as strategy they bring out some well planned programme.
There is some amount of urgency to demonstrate for finding alternate crops for Sugar Cane, Paddy or potato. Farmers need to be told of importance of following this scheme as a routine. This issue can not be kept under carpet for long.
