REATIVE DEFENSE OF A RAJA

I addressed a bunch of law undergrad students on creative thinking. Towards the end I gave them an exercise, If A. RAJA HIRED YOU T0 DEFEND HIM IN A COURT HOW WOULD YOU CREATIVELY DEFEND HIM?

I gave the arguments below of one of the most creative students:

ME LORD my client is more sinned against than sinning.

Firstly it is a total lie to call the 2G scam the country’s biggest ever. The Deccan Chronicle last week wrote about the PDS scam in a few states in the hindi belt that is said to have led to a loss of RS. 2 lac crores. Surely Me Lord this is more that the RS 1. 76 lakh crore loss that is alleged to have been lost due to the so called 3 scam.

Secondly the media makes this impugned loss seem much larger than it is. The Indian Express headlined this alleged loss with the scary words RS 1. 76 followed by some 19 zeros .This was calculated to prejudice the people against my client. For many people who earn zero rupees in a day-and for whose welfare my client ceaselessly works-- the amount may seem to be very large. It is all a question MELORD of framing issues in the right perspective. I pray that hereafter the media be directed by this Honorable court to refer to the alleged loss as 0.000001% of the GDP.

Thirdly my client began life humbly. He is a dalit and as such may be deemed to have suffered unimaginable atrocities.That apart he is a lawyer by qualification, has never ever handled a calculator, but he has shown a tech savviness that many other ministers have not shown .Thus he has even put up a cabinet note to he effect that the Indian government provide venture capital funding to all US companies doing research into future G’s--- 4 G, 5 G, 6 G et all. The allegation that he would have sought to extract undue favours out of these technological developments is a sara sur jhoot.

Fourthly my client is an example of communal harmony in a land fraught with communal strife. The members of the Ayodhya verdict and the hurt sentiments of the Christian community following the events in Orissa are fresh in our minds. With a view to promoting communal harmony my client has evolved a network of dedicated workers belonging to may communities .Thus while my client is a Hindu, his associate Batcha is a Muslim and his friend Kanimoizhi’s associate is a Christian – Jaspar. That the CBI has raided the premises of these gentleman is an indication of how my client s being unnecessarily harassed.

Moreover inspired by my client’s secular credentials a Tamil scriptwriter is writing a script on communal harmony based on the life and times of my client. This film tentatively titled MICHAEL, MADAN ,MADANI will be ready soon and I shall place a copy of the DVD in the court.

I thus plead that my client be let off baa izzat under dafa 302 and 420 .
