Correction: UN-Africa-Travel Delays story
Made Popular Jun 18 2008
Cote d'Ivoire :
In a June 9 story about travel delays during a U.N. Security Council trip to Africa, The Associated Press reported erroneously that members of the delegation paid $20,000 in cash to a jet fuel company to refuel a U.N. aircraft in Rwanda. A list of potential contributors was collected from the delegation but officials said U.N. headquarters was eventually able to wire the money to the company, allowing the plane to take off after a delay of more than two hours on the ground.
