Convoy to Gaza Stuck in Aqaba
One year after the Israeli war on Gaza, aid convoys still find it hard to get through into the strip. The most recent convoy is one led by the British MP George Galloway. Entrance through the red sea port was mediated by Turkey, but stopped by Egypt, hence the convoy’s current stay in Aqaba port in Jordan.

“Members of the convoy, which is led by British MP George Galloway, were however hoping for a solution thanks to mediation by Turkey to enter Gaza through the Red Sea port of Nuweibeh, the most direct route.
"We are still stuck in Aqaba, awaiting a solution to this problem, which was unfortunately created by Egypt," Zaher Birawi, spokesperson for the convoy, told Agence France-Presse (AFP).”-The Jordan Times
The convoy is reported to include around 250 trucks of food and medical supplies from European and Arab countries.
Egyptian officials are asking for co-ordinations to be made with the Israelis, while the spokesman of the convoy is saying that Egypt is only creating hurdles, as Egyptian officials are saying that “the convoy can only enter through El Arish, on the Mediterranean coast, which would mean going around the Sinai Peninsula and through the Suez Canal.”- The Jordan Times.
Some Egyptian officials are claiming that there are people in that convoy who are trying to make Egypt look bad on purpose, but I am pretty sure those officials would not feel the same way if they had children in that war zone called Gaza. This convoy blockade, together with the steel wall Egypt is building on their borders with Gaza is only benefiting Israel in their war against the people of Gaza.
