Congress Mission 2012: Uttar Pradesh

The writing on the wall which one could take note of after the results of Assembly Polls in Bihar is that it is going to be tough war in UP if Congress has to really come to terms for sharing of power. Today, Sonia ji is launching Congress Mission 2012 from Allahabad.

I would call it as a good initiative. But now simple slogan shouting will not help. Congress should go to public with blue print of its governance in UP in the event of its election to the Legislative Assembly. Merely extending arguments that the Madam Maya ji has not worked or utilized the funds provided by the Centre etc. will certainly not cut ice. Only talk of development plank would work. I feel that district wise plan of action for development should be unfolded by the Congress to the electorates. Let them choose the best they can.

Cast, I think may not play any major role. But surely if a decision on Ayodhya will matter a lot if it comes round the election time. No one is commenting on the pitfall that the judgment of Allahabad High Court had on Bihar elections, but I feel it distracted Muslim voters against Congress as if it had role to decide or influence the decision and the petition filed for stopping the verdict on the initiatives of Congress. Let there be no special efforts to woo Muslims. They may not come behind the Congress. But surely Congress can bank upon its past linkages with Brahmin community if it backs them openly. Rajputs and other higher castes will not mind again supporting Congress.

One more thing if Priyanaka is made responsible for UP and projected as likely candidate for the post of CM then chances will brighten for the Congress. Let Rahul be there for politics in centre but surely UP can be half won if Priyanka is pused in UP.
