CNN host Lou Dobbs says he isn’t going to run for New Jersey governor.
Dobbs said Friday he was flattered by suggestions he might run for the office, but doesn’t have the temperament for politics.
“I’m just the wrong personality type,” he said.
Dobbs’ intentions were first reported Friday on The Star-Ledger of Newark’s Web site.
Dobbs hosts CNN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” and is known for commentary on national politics, especially illegal immigration.
Gov. Jon S. Corzine has said he intends to run for re-election next year.
The 62-year-old Dobbs lives on a 300-acre farm in Sussex County in rural northwestern New Jersey. County elections board records show he was registered as a Republican, but changed to an independent in 2006.
