Clean Water Supply Scheme for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is addressing some core issues in improving the quality of life of the masses. A good news is their renewed attention to supply of clean water as apparent from the recent announcement of a planned water supply meg scheme that will ensure the provision of clean drinking water throughout the province.

News sources reported the announcement of the huge project for supplying clean water been made by Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour at the inauguration of a water supply scheme in Haripur. Mr. Bilour revealed that the planned scheme is worth nearly 7 billion rupees and it will install water filtration plants in all union councils of the province. The network of outdated water pipes will also be replaced with new ones under the same project.
This is big news for hundreds of thousands of people who have been through a difficult time due to lack of access to as basic a facility as clean drinking water, despite the fact that water supply situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is generally regarded as comparatively much better than in other provinces. This scheme of improving water supply in the province extends the efforts of the provincial government to solve water supply problems, ensuring clean drinking water to residents. In February, the provincial government sealed four water filtration plants that were found responsible for providing substandard drinking water in closed bottles in Peshawar.
