Chinese Find Prostitutes Trustworthy
A recent online survey of 3,376 Chinese found that nearly 8% of them considered sex workers to be trustworthy. Thus ranking prostitutes in third place behind farmers and religious clergy for most trustworthy people.

"A list like this is at the same time surprising and embarrassing," wrote an editorial in a Chinese daily.
It raises questions about the life of many Chinese. What is first noticeable is that government officials did not rank in any significant numbers. That is a good thing. Even in a totalitarian nation, the Chinese know better than to put a lot of faith in government.
Second, why would sex workers even rank if so many people did not visit them? Obviously, to ascertain the trustworthiness of a person who have to have a good of contact with them. Thus we can conclude that prostitution is big business in China. And through the experiences of many, a good deal of them have concluded that prostitutes keep their word. One has to wonder to what extent Chinese interact with prostitutes that would lead them to even contemplate their integrity, as it where.
Interesting finding.
Further, the ranking of farmers at the top of the list illustrates that despite the skyscrapers, China still remains a very agrarian society. A the placing of religious leaders also illustrates that in this nation of state atheism, the religious practice - both Islam and Christianity - is growing.
