Casting Couch For Every Aspiring Actress, says Lara
We always knew the murk in the film industry, but now, finally, we have an official word from none lesser than actress Lara Dutta herself on it. According to the actress there are enormous pressures faced by women in the industry.

She said that the women in the industry were not only expected to look at their glamorous best but also had to face uncalled for sexual advances from the biggies in the film business, who would try to take advantage of the actress by promising to help their careers.
She pointed out that most of the films were packaged in a way to leave negligible scope for an actress to showcase her talents, and all they were left to do was look good. Actors in general, she said, paid more attention to how they looked rather than how they performed, which, according to her, was 'sad'.
Lara did not mince words in saying that sexual advances are something that every girl who wants to be an actress has to go through. Are there any more doubts left about the existence of 'casting couch'?
