By Ranjan Kumar Amritnidhi, Freelance Journalist
This tragic story refers back to sensational triple murder case way back on the fateful Black Saturday on May 21, 2005 in Bose family at Yaarpur (Gardanibagh)area,Patna by the killer bandits. The recent court judgment against the killers has raised the eyebrows of many a social activist.

“They ruined my happy family.I didn’t know what was the real cause of this tragedy.I’m not satisfied with the recent judgment ordered by the Additional Judge of the court. Capital punishment must be awarded to the killer bandits.Sentences like Life Imprisonment or Rigorous Life Imprisonment are not the suitable punishment for such types of brutal killings. This punishment can’t bring back my wife and children. But I will continue my fight against the 11 killer bandits who mercilessly slit my beloved wife and children’s throats on that after noon of Black Saturday at Rajputana Colony near the Kalibari Temple in Gardanibagh,Patna on May 21, 2005.The horrible memories about the brutal murder of my dear ones are stinging me like scorpion’s sting.”said Vishwanath Bose in Patna.
“I will appeal in Patna High Court for the order of Capital Punishment for the killers of my innocent wife and children. How
can I live without them ? After the long struggle of five years
two accused have been awarded life imprisonment, but death penalty is too little for such types of brutal killers. They wiped out my smiling family just for Rs 32,000.Only two from the 11 accused has been awarded life imprisonment, but the rest are roaming freely in Gardanibagh area in Patna.I did not know what was the fault of my family members that they had to die ???” Mr Bose added.
On April 29, 2010 the Additional District and Sessions Judge,Patna,
Dhirendra Kumar Pandey ordered Life Term Rigorous Imprisonment to the main accused Vishal Kumar Singh with Rs 35,000 as fine and his fast friend Dheeraj Kumar with Rs 25,000 as fine under sections of 396 (murder and dacoity) of the IPC and Rigorous Life Imprisonment for 10 years to Alakh Ranjan with fine of Rs 10,000 under section of 412(for accepting looted articles)of the IPC in a triple murder and loot at a house of a bank staff Vishwanath Bose at Rajputana Colony near Kalibari Temple under Gardanibagh Police Station in Patna on May 21, 2005.One accused Upendra Paswan has been let off due to the lack of evidence..
Amazingly all killers were neighbors and they were all familiar with the victims. On that Black Saturday Vishal Kumar Singh visited in the Bose’s residence-“Dolly Mansion” in the name of TV cable checking with his 10 local friends including five minors.
He borrowed two butcher’s knives and purchased some cable wires from a local shop.Mandira Bose(35)did not understand about the real motives of Vishal and his gang.
They slit Mandira’s and her 4 years old daughter Manavi’s throats with the butcher’s knives. His friends helped him during this savage crime. Mr Bose’s son Siddharth Bose (14) also became the target of the killer bandits. His hands were tied with rope like
his mother and sister before slitting the throat. He had just arrived from his morning school. He was a brilliant student of class eight in St Karens High School,Patna.
Mr Bose was in the SBI main branch of Patna at the time of the horrible death dance at his residence. Mr Bose returned back home at 3 pm with maize corn for her little daughter Manavi.
But unfortunately he found his wife and children’s throat slit corpses in the blood pool in three different rooms. He was shocked and fainted after seeing blood curdling horrible scene in his house.
According to the reliable sources the main mastermind Vivek Singh and his accused friends of this heinous crime are roaming freely in Patna. He is the eldest brother of the killer Vishal Kumar Singh. There are some retired police officers in the family of the main accused and the mastermind of this brutal crime.
Instant justice to Vishwanath Bose and the departed souls of his family members and death punishment for the killer bandits were the main demands of the historical Protest Rally which was organized in the first week of the August 7, 2005.
During this rally school students, women, youth, septuagenarians and thousands of social activists of Bihar and Jharkhand under the banner of Bihar Bengali Association and Aaamra Shobai,Patna warmed up the environment of capital city Patna demanding stringent punishment to all the killers and justice to the victims.
This protest rally also shook up the police department resulting into stringent action against the killers despite the high pressure from some highups asking for keeping silence over this issue and saving the accused.
