The judgement is out, the lone terrorist Ajmal Kasab who was caught alive is guilty. He is guilty of killing 47 people and abetting murder of other 26/11 Mumbai victims with his friends who unfortunately were killed in the terror attack, unfortunately because they all did not suffer for their heinous actions and got an instant death which they did nto deserve.
Should Kasab be hanged, face a firing squad, sit in an electric chair or should 4400 volt current be passed through his body so he dies instantly, the debate is raging furiously all over the country in fact the whole world, the only people against his death sentence are obviously his family members who till date are sticking with the plea that he is innocent inspite of the fact that he was caught red-handed,red-handed because his hands were totally covered with the blood of the innocent people whom he shot down without any compunction, he had no enmity against them infact he did even know them,for him they were just enemies who have to be killed for that is what he had been taught, this was driven into his mind till he lost all reasoning power and his rationality so that he shot unarmed helpless people at pointblank range. What must he be thinking when he saw blood sprouting out from his victim's bodies, the cries of pain, the cries for mercy, the bewildered expression before dying.
Will any punishment that kills him instantaneously be an appropriate punishment. Will it be suffice to wipe off the grief suffered by the loved ones of the innocent victims who lost their fathers, sons, mothers,will it compensate for the loss of limbs,the absolute loss of normal healthy life for many of the survivors.
Doesn't he deserve such a punishment that will be exemplary not only for him but also a lesson for all the perpetrators who incite persons like Kasab to commit such acts?
Finally a punishment which is acceptable to all the victims and their loved ones should be given so that at least the souls of all those who lost their lives and normalcy in this senseless carnage should rest in peace.
