Can We Really Afford New States?
Are We Really Independent?
Women today - are we really considered equal?
Do we really care for our elders?
If only we were United States of Asia!
This is with reference to the creation of new states in India. The centre has already fingered the hornets net by declaring the starting of the process to create Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh. One good state has come to a standstill.
The country is as it is suffering from too many politicians and there nexus with criminals, my question is "Can we afford or do we really need newer states even if they become easier to manage?"
My reasoning against it are that if we go in for new state of Telangana, there are many more asking for creation of a state of their own. There is the Gorkha land, Bundelkhand and many more. Each state will have their own CMs and other ministers (so many more politicians), so many more bureaucrats to boss over the public, so many more DGPs and other policemen to harass the public. Can anyone calculate the burden of their salaries (and perks that are many more times higher than salaries when all these promotions take place) just to name a few.
And what do we get? Same old (mis)administration, same old corruption, and same old opposition in the state assemblies calling bundhs all the time for everything right or wrong (mostly wrong). And that many more divisions of the community. We will have that many more "" pradeshis to compete/fight with
