An Associated Press-Ipsos poll shows that record low numbers of people approve of the jobs President Bush and Congress are doing.

In addition, never have fewer people in the survey said they think the U.S. is heading in the right direction.

Jarred by stubborn economic woes and long-lasting wars abroad, just 16 percent say the country is moving the right way, essentially a tie with the 17 percent who said so last month.

In addition, 28 percent say they approve of the job Bush is doing, tying his low in the AP-Ipsos survey set last April. Congress fared even worse: A new low of 18 percent said they were happy with the work Congress is doing, down 5 percentage points from last month.
