The Milwaukee Brewers have scheduled a news conference Monday, where they are expected to announce a trade for Cleveland Indians ace pitcher C.C. Sabathia.

A person with direct knowledge of the deal confirmed to The Associated Press on Sunday night that the teams were close to a trade. The person requested anonymity because the deal had not been finalized. The impending trade first was reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Brewers’ news conference is scheduled for noon EDT.

The Indians also called a news conference, scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
