The news is that Actor Rohit Roy recently pinched Dia Mirza's bottom, I mean to say, without the consent of the actress. As per Indian standards, this is indeed an issue which had the potential of turning itself into a big brawl. But Dia Mirza mellowed down and buried the issue, but only after Rohit Roy apologized to her.
According to sources, the incident occurred at the poolside of a Goa hotel where the two were shooting for Sanjay Gupta's film Alibaug. During a shooting break the former Miss India decided to relax by having a dip in the swimming pool. Later, Rohit joined her in the pool and as she was about to leave the pool, Rohit pinched her bottom. A stunned Dia left the pool in a hurry with tears in her eyes.
The next day Rohit approached Dia, but instead of apologizing, he greeted her as if nothing had happened. Dia was shocked by this and demanded an apology from him, but Rohit didn't entertain her. Finally, Dia threatened him that she would go public and would take the matter to his wife who was also present in Goa. This was enough to bring Rohit to his knees, and he apologized for his unruly behaviour.
When contacted, both the stars presented a different view of the story. Dia underplayed the incident and said:
All I can say is that such issues need to be handled with maturity.
Rohit, on the other hand, just denied the whole incident. He said:
Misunderstandings happen on every set, but there is no truth in that I pinched her. No one asked me to apologise and if Dia were unhappy she would have told me and there is no issue whatsoever.
