Binayak sen is no Tilak

At the outset I confess knowing little about both

My rusty knowledge of history tells me that Tilak wanted freedom from british rule & was charged with sedition

Binayak despite his soft corner( so has arundhati roy & many others intellectuals including didi our railway minister & cm in waiting) for naxal movements has to my mind till now never openly supported them in an active manner

To charge him with sedition & awarding life imprisonment will unnecessarily glorify him & degrade tilak

I am sure this is never the intention of the honorary court

Sedition is a strong offence & life imprisonment is a harsh sentence

I am sure higher courts will be lenient & will not permit the judicial record to be blemished by adopting such casual approach
