It's getting awfully dangerous to travel at night without getting mugged in this town. Muggings have even become more violent with the muggers carrying chemicals to blind victims or metallic bars used to hit the victim on the head completely rendering them unconscious. It has at times led to death of the victim.
Towards the holiday season (Christmas and new years day), murders and muggings always become more common. A little tradition in this country, is that during this season relatives living in the city would take the long bus ride back home in the villages to celebrate Christmas with their rural families. They normally do alot of shopping for the rural people including buying lots of bread, sugar, presents for all at home, plus also sparing some money to buy booze for the rural folks. The home-coming individual also needs to buy plenty of fancy stuff as a show off that he is financially stable and also attract attention on the village. More like enjoy super-star status among his own country folks.
Now, with all the pressures for a fast approaching Christmas season aside, its also the time everything is costing abnormally high prices. Everybody is trying to find ways of earning an extra income wherever they can find it.
