BAM’BOOZE’LED!!!

Aandu:Macha!!! Lets booze tonite!!! Am totally stressed out! I wana de stress!!

Pandu: ok macha!! Sure sure! No problems whatsoever! Even I wanted to!

GANDHI: no macha!! My mom will kill me!! You people carry on! I will have coke

You relate your group to the above conversation don’t you?? I knew you would!! I feel sad to say this…but 90 percent of youth are either aandus or paandus! Yea…I read it out on the internet! I am not making up this stat!! don’t you dare say I am bluffing… there are not a lot many GANDHIs left with us..gone are those days when the word “booze” was not even familiar to anybody!! GANDHI wanted all his followers to be up there with him in heaven I guess!! He took em all up!! Gandhigiri( munna bhai style!!) is sadly on a steep decline… only a few people(like me!! ;-) ) are battling it out with the 90 percent boozers. The fight’s getting tougher everyday!!

Why am I putting ‘non boozing’ under gandhigiri??!! To be honest...even I don’t know! I felt like..n I did! Even Gandhi was totally drunk once n had lied to his dad!! Later he apologized…that’s a different story! Lemme not get into that right now!!

Boozing and youth go hand in hand!! I don’t care about the uncles n aunts who booze! This article is dedicated to all young people who booze...and more so for those who don’t!!

Drinking has become so common these days that an 18 year old talks to his friends about the new brand that he tried last time n how it set his head spinning!! And he also advises his friends to try it out! And those friends of his duly follow his order as if it was an assignment from a very strict n dumb lecturer without which they would flunk in the subject!! Such is the dedication these days!! That’s an optimistic way of putting it!! At least we r showing dedication in something...finally!!

REASONS TO BOOZE:

Whoa!! This would take at least a 100 pages if we conduct a survey asking why people got drunk last time around! Most of them don’t have any reason! But a few have... the reasons may range from academic stress, incomplete assignments, family problems, money problem(now don’t ask me where he got the money to booze if he had money problem..Just read on you moron!), break up with a girlfriend, the day internals or exams are over, etc!

People get drunk even to celebrate something!! Like a graduation ceremony, prom night, send off party, marriages, when their proposal works out, on the day of the results when they themselves can’t believe they cleared etc! I was amazed when one of my friends said he gets drunk because it gives him a very deep sleep!! Huh!! I can go on n on…

But that is not my agenda here!! I know you boozers belittle the non boozing fraternity!! I know you treat us as kids. I tell u what...even we do the same thing to you!! Do you boozers at least have any idea of how you people behave when you r drunk??!! You act like freaking psychos!!

Let me get to my own friends for example!! God...I have a bunch of drunken bastards with me after every internal gets over! For me...It’s cheap entertainment!! Hell yea!! That is exactly what it is!! I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN EVER THAN WATCHING SOME OF MY FRIENDS LOSE IT ALL OUT WHEN THEY R DRUNK!

Some take their frustration out by scolding the subject, n along with it the lecturer who taught it n hw they got screwed because of him! Some start sharing very personal stuff with their friends which they never would have if they were in senses. Some start to dance in the hostel corridors to ear blasting music, some try to stand on their head!!, some silently doze off!!

Three of my friends have the distinction of pissing on our college compound when they were drunk! It must have been totally heavenly for them when three of them relieved themselves, on the three letters i.e. N,I,E put up on the compound of our college!! People, if you enter our college, kindly stay away from that thing!! Because I can’t assure you these are the only three who have done it! There might be many more...because it’s not a small number when we think of the number of students that an engineering college can piss off!! You know what I mean rite??!!

I didn’t mean to offend any of you boozers by saying all this. We all have our own problems.. And frustrations which we feel like pushing out of our minds in order to relieve ourselves. The way in which we do it depends on the individual. I am not intending that only frustrated people drink...or not that non boozers never get frustrated. It’s all about how you tackle the frustration.

I just want to say that there are better ways of overcoming your grief..or sharing your joy than to get drunk! When you are sad, you can talk to your close ones, so that you feel lighter, or getaway somewhere very soothing, like a nature spot, and spend some lone time, writing whatever you feel in your personal diary, talking with your mom, you know..These are all stress relievers..

I am not asking you people to quit drinking altogether… people like vijay mallya would go bankrupt if you do it!! I am just asking you to think before you get drunk… think of your lungs, liver etc etc… think of your parents because it’s their hard earned money that you are spending on something uncalled for…

Think of the consequences if something happens when you are driving your way back home after you get drunk! You might run into a cop who would make you cough up a hefty fine amount, or think if you lose control over your vehicle for fraction of a second...you are not only putting your life, but other innocent lives in danger.

Friends…please don’t drink until you have a really really strong reason for it! You might say that all boozers think the reason they are drinking for is big enough. But, give it a clear thought. Put on a non boozers’ shoe n think. Or ask a non boozer if your reason is big enough to get drunk! People like us are always ready to help you out! Provided you don’t brainwash us n make us end up on the other side of the line!!

I just felt like writing this because I saw a few of my friends discussing about their booze plans for the night. And they never listened to me when I said not to! At least I hope some of you who read this might listen to me!!

REDUCE BOOZING! SAVE YOURSELVES!!!
