Astrology: Old grandmother's tales or is it truly the study of light...

I was born and brought up in a staunch Christian family. My name is Daniel Chakraborty and I have lived in Bangalore. My earliest recollection of Vedic Astrology was when my grandmother brought out a copy of my 'janam kundli' [as my g'parents were Hindus]. My mother shrieked at the sight. I was spell-bound but was warned to not to dabble with anything like this.

Days passed... and one day last September... I chanced upon Linda Goodman's Sunsign on the internet. And that's when my journey began... as I identified with the Aquarius characteristics immediately.

I'm not stupid nor am I superstitious. People regard me to be a genius yet I wasn't satisfied with who I was at work or anywhere else. I worked as an Instructional Designer and a freelance writer cum editor. I have given logic and clarity of thought the highest place all my life.

I did not know who I was... or where I was going.

Until my study in Astrology began. The first stage was studying the genesis of Astrology itself. The next, testing its relevance in the real world. And according to me, it has passed both stages with FLYING COLORS.

I spent a long time studying my past. And everything that happened was explained, more than satisfactorily. And it has changed my life completely. It is a passion and an important part of my life NOW.

Firstly, astrology is not about the Sun Sign horoscopes that you see in the newspaper. That's entertainment. There's more than meets the eye. Trust me.

Let's get that out of the way.

I was greatly influenced by the psychologist, Carl Jung who communicated in letters to B.V Raman what he discovered in his study of Astrology. And why he used it as the basis of his findings in Psychology.

I discovered that every human has a destiny that he has to complete in this lifetime. And he has past karma that he pays during his first 30 years.

I've also used this to understand what was happening around me. Why I felt the way I did and prepared myself for events that were to occur as well.

I've heard people complain about horoscopes being inaccurate. Trust me, I know some sources that provide you very very accurate details of the day, week and month.

I've watched people waste money during the Mercury Retrograde while I saved mine, discovered that I was born into the sign of the astrologer in both systems of astrology [Western and Vedic] and understood why my life fell apart during 27.5 to 30 years. And also know when developments in my life will take place.

I am self-aware, so to speak, and understand why things go wrong... keeping in mind that it is all about good Karma! Everything.

I am a changed man. And I am still not superstitious or stupid. Actually, I am wiser and the better for it.
