Asian Countries not safe to host 2011 World Cup?
The deadly terror attack on Sri Lankan players has put a serious question mark over Pakistan's status as co-host for 2011 World Cup to be held in the sub continent. In the wake of the terror attack the comments by International Cricket Council (ICC) Vice President and the President of World Cup organizing Committee Sharad Pawar that holding matches in Pakistan could be difficult, it may have serious implication for the 2011 World Cup.

After attack Pakistan's chances of co hosting the 2011 World Cup have almost diminished. Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, England and India have already made it clear that they would not play in Pakistan and ICC had earlier postponed the Champion's trophy also.
This was not the first time that terrorist in Pakistan had attacked the sportsmen, earlier New Zealand quit a 2002 series after a bomb explosion near the team hotel in Karachi which killed 11 people. The situation in Pakistan is such that teams should not be expected to go there in the immediate future.
And it is not the ever-increasing un-controllable terror networks in Pakistan only , but the dreaded suicide squad of LTTE striking almost at will and recent Bangladesh mutiny which has put the world cup in real jeopardy. India alone seems to be safe place though not above the suspicion after 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Cricket tours have been canceled in the past for fears of death threats, natural calamities or on the grounds of racial discrimination but never ever thecricketers were prime targets of terror attacks.
