Arrest warrant against Aamir for insulting national flag
Bollywood star Aamir Khan suddenly found himself on the wrong side of the law when bailable warrants were issued against him for insulting the national flag. The incident took place on August 16 in Indore, when 11 national flags were hoisted on the top of a car showroom during a function. Aamir was the chief guest at the function. Allegedly, the national flag remained hoisted even after the sunset and was brought down in a 'derogatory manner' and it also kept lying on the ground in violation of the flag code.
A complaint in this regard was filed by advocate Shailendra Sharma after which bailable warrants were issued by a local court against actor Aamir Khan and the owners of the car showroom, Ashok Rajpal and Rakesh Rajpal. The court has directed them to appear before it on October 12. The action was taken under the Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act, 1971 and Indian Penal Code.
