Army to Train Police in Martial Arts
The Police Department in Lahore has decided to train its officers in martial arts so as to enable them for coping better with terrorist criminals. The department is said to have formally requested Pakistan Army for providing martial arts instructors in this regard.

Army has been requested to provide 50 martial instructors to train police officers at the Chuhng Police Training Center and it is expected that the request will soon be fulfilled. Training in martial arts will be given on ‘war footing’ i.e. in war-like situations in order to be used by the cops in fulfilling their duties in the ongoing war-on-terrorism that has moved into cities.
At some training centers, army instructors are already training police personnel in fighting and weapon-handling techniques. In addition, the police department is actively recruiting retired army personnel as constables in various police stations. As many as 900 ex soldiers have already been recruited as constables and another 500 are expected to join the police department soon.
