Arabs Kicked Out of Apartment in Israel; Signs: “Death to Jewish Women who date Arabs."

Dateline: This is Israel.

A few weeks back I wrote about how a bunch of Zionist fanatics attacked a Jewish landlord for renting an apartment to Arab, and Arab citizens of Israel mind you, students. The landlord did not back down and defended the students as excellent tenets.

When I posted that a bunch of Zionist apologists naturally pretended that this was a minor issue and just a rogue and fringe gathering of bigots which is not mainstream and does not reflect on Israeli society. Right. In the world of Zionists and Islamophobes they seek to amplify any Muslim kook and reduce from that a generalized indictment against all Arabs and Muslims, but when the extremism is in their own community - whether Christian or Jewish - they downplay it. So Muslim extremism is always used to smear all Muslims, but Jewish extremism has to be contextualized and really not a big deal. Even when the Muslim extremist is genuinely a fringe fanatic and Jewish extremism has a board following.

Such is this case. The renting to Arabs matter is now going away in Israel. Hundreds of rabbis have signed a letter endorsing this apartheid and discriminatory policy. And grounded their opposition in Jewish theology:

"The rabbis defend their ruling. It's not racism, it's halacha -- Jewish law -- that prohibits allowing Gentiles a foothold, Rabbi Eliyahu told Israel Radio: "We've seen what happens in mixed towns, our girls are tempted and this leads to assimilation." "We don't want this happening in Safed or anywhere else," he said. Rabbi Dov Volpe was blunter. "State laws contravening halacha count as dust," he said, making clear that the Torah trumps democracy."

Can you imagine if a Muslim fundamentalist said "It's racism, it's Shari'a"? We'd hear a whole lecture of how intolerant Islam is and how this is a uniquely Islamic problem. But when a whole list of Jewish rabbis - 300 at last count - sign a letter calling for segregation and justify it in Jewish law the chorus of individuals who look high and low to attack every single malfascene when commmitted by Muslims somehow fail to bother when it comes to Jewish fanatics, at best, and actually endorse the racist policies, at worst.

And do not think this is fringe. Israel is becoming a more militant, more nationalist, more fundamentalist and more xenophobic society every day.

"The Lehava organization issued a notice Sunday evening, inviting the public to call a voicemail service and record the names of Jewish Israelis renting apartments to Arabs. Lehava, identified with supporters of Meir Kahane, thus adds its weight to the recent call by 50 prominent rabbis to avoid renting to Arabs which, the organization says, amounts to no less than assimilation."

"Ali Mustafa, a student who rents an apartment in the north Israeli city of Safed, awoke on Friday to find his car vandalized. He reported to the police that unidentified perpetrators smashed his side mirror, scratched the vehicle and spray-painted the words "Arabs out!" on it."

This is not a fringe movement but reflects the heart of Israel:

“Survey shows 41% of secular Israelis support municipal religious leaders’ call not to rent apartments to non-Jews, as do 64% and 88% of Israel’s traditional and haredi Jews, respectively.”

Even the Tel Aviv Israelis support this in great numbers, and they’re supposed to be the most liberal members of Israeli society."

As one Israeli commentator writes:

“The story, as one of my friends recently concluded, is no longer about right versus left in Israel, because there is no longer a left in Israel. It is a campaign waged by the right-wing settler movement, assisted by the Netanyahu government, which is playing for time, against the entire world - except for our new friends in the European neo-fascist groups and the American evangelical right. With friends like these, Israel should seriously consider reaching peace with the Arab world, and quickly.”

Well, Zionist hoodlums have won this round:

"Four Muslims and a Druze man were compelled to leave an apartment they had rented in southern Tel Aviv due to neighbors’ scheming against them, Ynet has learned. They claim that residents of the neighborhood threatened to torch the apartment and attack the landlord if the tenants were not evicted.

“Residents said aloud that they didn’t want to see Arabs in the neighborhood, because it’s for Jews alone,” one of the tenants said. (Hassan Shaalan)"

"Some 200 people held a demonstration in central Bat Yam Monday evening against relationships between local Jewish women and Arab men.

One of the protestors called out, “Any Jewish woman who goes with an Arab should be killed; any Jew who sells his home to an Arab should be killed.”

During the rally, held under the banner, “We Want a Jewish Bat-Yam”, demonstrators also insulted the prophet Muhammad and made racist remarks against Arabs and their saints.

Police forces maintained order, but did not act when the demonstrators made racist remarks.

“We are not racist, we are just Jews. The Arabs are coming and taking our daughters. We will not allow it,” one of the speakers said."

Right. When Zionists do it it is never racism, they are just defending their culture and honor just like neo-Nazis seek to defend their culture and honor from the coarse effects of "blacks" and "Jews". And the said thing is they actually believe this: no matter how heinous and oppressive they cling to the belief that they are still righteous and doing nothing more than "self-defense" while it is the rest of the world which is a Jew-hating horde. While they, the Israelis, are just innocently defending "their land" and supremacy.

But that is to be expected, the hypocrisy and double-standards. And most of the critics of Islamic fundamentalists are not principled opponents who criticize Islamic extremism from a secular perspective, but are themselves Jewish and Christian fundamentalists and ultra-nationalists who are selective in their denunciations of religious extremism all the while upholding their one equally hateful variety. That's Zionism for you.
