Apple iPhone 4 Flawed
Apple iPhone 4 has hit the markets but it is apparently tainted with some flaws. Here is an insight into the drawbacks the device carries with itself. Is it really fourth generation??
Although the device boasts of being 4G, it actually is a 3G device. The name itself has been successful in befooling people. On being questioned, an Apple representative reportedly said the phone has just been referred as the Fourth Generation. Apple iPhone4 cannot use the 4th generation wireless broadband standards.
Also, the hand placement on the phone makes navigation cumbersome for the users. The company in response suggests avoiding certain hand positions or using a case to fix for the issue.
Another mishap is the bad antenna problem; it has been observed that reception gets dropped if the users accidentally touch the outside antenna band of the phone. May be it is just a software bug, showing no bars and no reception even when you do have reception, but it has been noticed by many users.
The iPhone 4 has a chaotic Wi-Fi connection apparently. It put the company CEO Steve Jobs to shame by refusing to work when he attempted to demonstrate the iPhone 4. The CEO tried to brush away the mishap by reasoning that many people were using WiFi in the Moscone conference centre at that time. The company claimed that the iPhone 4 has a stainless-steel band around the outside edge, especially designed to improve WiFi network reception, but it still doesn't seem to work very well. Even Apple iPad is flawed with a bad wi-fi connection problem and the user has to be practically in a wireless router to get a decent WiFi connection.
The cost of the phone is high too. A 16GB model of iPhone4 is priced at $199 and a 32GB version will cost $299. Additionally, the monthly expenses on contracts are higher than other smartphones.
Although the phone’s overall performance is upto the mark, the above mentioned problems are proving to affect the users.
Nevertheless, Apple iPhone 4 is a better buy as compared to other smartphones in the tech market.
