An insult to the common man

LIFESTYLE. .

Reality show judges are said to be rude and harsh towards the contestants. This story goes on almost all the TV channels. Some contestants are mentally and psychologically harassed as well. All this is said to enhance the TRPs of the show. So far so good.

But the show currently in its second season being aired on Doordarshan 'Airtel Krazy Kiya Re' seems to have surpassed all its limits. This letter though is not intended at the show basically but solely and purely on the ill mannered behaviour of one of its judges- Mr.Baktyaar.

He may be a dancing icon as ‘he pretends to be’, I don’t have any personal appreciation for that but who has given him the power to speak evil for the common man of India? In the first episode of the second season of 'Airtel Krazy Kiya Re', there was a contestant who hailed from a very poor family. So much so that he used to sell newspapers and pay the fees for his dance classes. (his teacher however – a gentleman refused to take the fees when he got to know of his family background).

The contestant danced well and his parents too were invited on the stage. His father was a fruit seller and it was a dream come true for him to see his son on such a big TV show. But what shocked all of us was the manner in which the judge Mr. Bakhtyaar, retorted- 'ek fruit seller ka ladka itna achcha kaise naach sakta hai'(how can a fruit seller’s son dance so well?)

I want to ask him- is it written somewhere that only those who are born rich can have the ability to dance? Is such a quality denied to someone only because he is so poor. His words show his cheap mentality and the kind of attitude he keeps towards the common man of India.

Its really a pity that in this governance of aam aadmi- the very aam aadmi and his profession is being mocked at just because his son can dance exceptionally well. If Mr.Bakhtyaar is born rich just by fate and chance, doesn’t give him the right to comment on those who are unprivileged. He has simply no right to sit on the chair as a judge in any show. It’s an insult on the work being done ‘with much of labour and hard work’ by the father of the contestant.

Talent knows no boundaries, talent never sees who is rich or poor. Who is he to decide talent on the basis of high and low? Is being rich or poor the parameters on the basis of which he judges each and every performance? Shame on him.

Our government has been working hard to bridge the gap between the haves and have nots but the so called poster boys and those living in ivory towers seem to be widening this gap by there disgusting attitude, remarks and comments. Each and every citizen of this country is dignified and each and every profession deserves respect.

Mr. Bakhtyaar should apologise for such an indecent comment.
