Amy Winehouse has won a prestigious songwriting award for “Love Is a Losing Game” from her “Back to Black” album.

The song won the Ivor Novello award for best song musically and lyrically at a ceremony in London on Thursday. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, accepted the award after the 24-year-old singer-songwriter arrived too late to collect it in person.

Her song “Rehab,” also from the “Back to Black” album, won a Novello last year.

The awards are given out annually by Britain’s songwriting community.

I think when he is not hitting people, getting stoned and not brushing her teeth, winehouse is writing. Some very surrealistic tendencies come to the surface when it comes to this nightingale.

The malnourished, tooth-paste challenged brat betrayed her fans even at Novello. Her father had to make up for her absence and she landed up late at the event. The mountain of talent she possesses is the only thing that has managed to save her from getting ruined for her otherwise geeky, drug-abused lifestyle. But that gap is fast closing in on her and if she continuous this way, even the talent would be of no avail.

Yeah atul I agree she’s turning out to be quiet the infamous celeb out there but now that people are equalling her to Shakespeare suddenly, what chance do others have? Looks like she is giving many singers a run for their money as of now.
