All Except One Economic Sector Declining in Pakistan
Except the agricultural sector, Pakistan’s economy is on a decline in all sectors, concludes a survey launched in the federal capital Islamabad on Thursday.
The survey shows that major economic targets have been missed and the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) has only reached 2 % instead of the government’s target 5 % for the current fiscal year. Broadly, the existing economic picture of Pakistan is depressing.

Shaukat Tarin, Finance Advisor to the Prime Minister, explains that the current government inherited the economy in a miserable state, getting out of control, and this accounts for the increase in unemployment and decline in economic growth.
A notable rise in poverty in the country has also been recorded. Mr. Tarin has mentioned Pakistan’s plan for getting an additional $4 billion loan should the already pledged $5 billion aid by Friends of Pakistan forum did not arrive in time.
