All About Man's Best Friend!
Recently there has been news about dogs I mean canines, there was one fellow from Jalandhar, Subhash who apparently rebuked two youths, Rinku and Mintu, after they crushed a stray dog to death in front of his house in Bhargo Camp area on February 12. This led to an altercation, but the situation was resolved with the help of police. Obviously the youths did not like it and threatened him with dire consequences and what did they do when Subhash Chander was going on scooter in the busy Babu Jagjivan Ram Chowk on Tuesday he was waylaid by youths on a motorcycle and then attacked by a group of youngsters who came in a car. They fled after inflicting grievous injuries on Chander who later succumbed to his injuries.

Then there is an air-hostess from Gurgaon Sonia Rogers an avid dog lover who feeds stray dogs regularly, now these unofficial pets are proving to be a menace especially for the maids who come to work in that locality, the Rosewood City. They have assaulted and bitten these maids who along with residents of Rosewood city have cases filed against Muncipal commissioner who by the way stayed arrest of Sonia, Sonia herself. Obviously when it is the question of stray animal PETA and PFA and Maneka Gandhi have jumped in the fray. By the way where are these people when these strays are roaming on streets, hungry, ill and some are even suffering from horrible and painful diseases. Everyone is blaming everyone and there seems to be a stalemate.
Then there is this man who drove down from Shillong to Chennai, covering about 4,000 km by road in four days, to save his ‘best friend’, an American Boxer, afflicted by a mysterious illness. Sanjay Sharma who runs a consultancy service in Shillong, has been living with his dog Bonxie, for the past 16 months. When Bonxie began having epileptic attacks due to an irregular heart beat, veterinarians in Meghalaya recommended he seek advanced health care.
So Sharma got into his Xylo MUV with the dog and a helper and drove down — as travel by plane or train would have been stressful for Bonxie Now he is undergoing treatment at Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) Hospital.
Rs 60,000 for a one-night stand! That’s what a dog, exhibited at the Chandigarh Dog Show on Sunday, fetched for one mating session. This New Foundland breed — named after an island in Canada — belongs to a dog lover in Karnal and fetched the astounding amount because of its rarity and burly looks.
We have extremes where dog lovers are prepared to go to any lengths for their canine mates and on the other hand we have people dying because of malnutrition and lack of proper treatment, There is no problem in loving a dog as one of your own but when other humans are treated below par in front of them and when the care and love and money lavished on them seems to make fun of those who cannot afford even a proper meal a day this is a matter of real concern.
