Al Shabaab Ban 3 Christian Aid Groups From Somalia
The common phrase beggars can't be choosers applies to many circumstances in life. It applies to groups and nations as much as it does to individuals. If you need help, and so many countries are in desperate need, you can't pick and choose which aid groups are going to help you or where you get your aid money from. The Taliban in Pakistan recently told the government not to accept Western aid for the millions who have been devastated by the floods. If they truly had their people's welfare at heart they would accept help from anywhere and everywhere. Then again, we know that they don't care a whit about people, so the point is moot.

Now, the Taliban's brothers in evil in Somalia are doing the exact same thing. Over there, however, it's not the West they are opposed to, it's certain international NGO relief organizations that they want to throw out of the country. Al Shabaab, the Islamist militants tearing the country apart with their extremist views on Islam, have banned three groups because the are allegedly "actively propagating Christianity". Whether this has any basis in the truth is beside the point. These people need all the help they can get, and Al Shabaab is throwing them out because they are proselytizing? As if Islam isn't one of the greatest proselytizing religions in the world, aside from Christianity.
A statement posted on the radical group's website said the U.S.- based World Vision, ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), and Swedish agency of Diakonia, were banned from working within Somalia. "The aforementioned organizations have been found to be actively propagating Christianity in this Muslim country," said the statement issued by Al Shabaab's Office for Supervising the Affairs of Foreign Agencies (OSAFA).Al Shabaab said in the statement that the three agencies which have been working in Somalia, were "acting as missionaries under the guise of humanitarian work" while at the same time spreading what they termed as "corrupted ideologies in order to taint the pure creed of the Muslims in Somalia." "Along with their missionary work, the proliferation of corruption and indecency has become prevalent as a result of their presence," the statement added.
And this from the mouths of some of the most savage, corrupted souls and minds to exist in this world.
Apparently, these 3 relief organizations aren't the only groups to be banned in Somalia. They're in good company since Al Shabaab has also ousted several U.N. agencies and others for their supposed "anti-Islam activities."
Other groups have been warned that they too could be banned.
The Islamist group which controls much of south and center of Somalia warned of prompt closure for other agencies found to be engaged in similar activities and those trying to carry on the work of the banned organization will face unspecified "appropriate disciplinary measure."
If it wasn't for those people in Somalia who don't deserve to be living under the control of crazed, religious fanatics, I would recommend that every single international relief group hightail it out of Somalia and see how they fare. Not too well I am sure. But the West will always be there to help those in need, even if they don't deserve it, like Al Shabaab.
