AJYCP LEADED TO BEGGING STIRS AGAINST PRICE HIKE
Guwahati, 14th July, 2008
The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) activists blocked the city roads with plates and utensils to demonstrate their anger on the continuing price hike of the food commodities.

The AJYCP activists came out in inner wears and with utensils to mark their demonstration in a unique way. The agitation symbolically expressed the harsh situation of the people of Assam. “We feel like beggars when the excess price hike leads to the starvation like situation for the state. It’s now impossible to cop up with the hikes and life has become miserable for us”, said District President of AJYCP, Robin Das.
“We lost the hope on the present Government; they are just not considering the fact of livelihood in a proper way. Price hike is impossible at presently. Any vegetables or food products are now double in price and Government is putting a deaf ear to our needs”, complained Ashim Kalita, resident of Guwahati.
Adding to the consent AJYCP (District Kamrup) General Secretary Kalyan Baruah alleged that presently the excess price hike lead the public to ferocious agitation against the Govt. “It’s been a long time that the Govt. is not taking care of our rights and demands and today we also urge the Assam Government to take necessary arrangements for the stopping of the price hike, or other wise the AJYCP will be forced to lead to more ferocious stirs”, warned Baruah.
