Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play Rani Lakshmibai in Ketan Mehta's film
Seems label of being a Bachchcan 'bahu' has started showing its affect on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the newly wed has opted to play Indian warrior queen Rani Lakshmibai in Ketan Mehta's film.

It's been just two months that former Miss World got married to the most eligible bachelor in India, Abhishek Bachchan and the gorgeous lady is back on her acting track. For the movie she has commited to an intensive training lesson in which she will be taught to use a sword while riding a horse as the role is demanding a lot of action scenes.
The actress was aslo placed at ninth position in a poll of the 100 most beautiful women of today, in the July issue of Harpers and Queen. This position is not new to Ash as two years back also the actress had secured exactly the same place in a similar poll.
Rani Lakshmibai was the queen of the Maratha and ruled princely state of Jhansi in North India. She played a major role in the 1857 uprising against India's then British colonial rulers. She died fighting against British soldiers at a young age of 23, in 1858. She is a symbol of resistance to British rule in India.
The movie will be called as 'Jhansi Ki Rani' for which script also has been finalized. Mehta will also cast British actors, British technicians and trainers for the action sequences of the movie.
