Ahmadinejad Endorses Avatar
Avatar fell from the #1 spot at the domestic Box Office this week (its current total is $630million), but it did achieve a new fan: Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. While in Santa Monica, California; Ahmadinejad attended a screening of Avatar. He is seen here wearing his 3-D glasses:

After the film, the president stated that he did not think it possible but Cameron has surpasses his previous success Titanic. Ahmadinejad stated that the way the mercenaries dealt with the Na'vi people is really inspired from Iran's own repression of dissidents.
"You cannot be patient and light-handed with such rebellious Na'vi and likewise with such post-elections student protesters," the president stated. He added: "The Na'vi just would not listen and thus needed to be pushed aside."
He said he was endeared by the footage of destruction against the Na'vi. The president was then reminded that while the Na'vi people - out-gunned - suffered lost in the beginning, with their greater number and determination they were able to defeat the seemingly more powerful America. In response he stated, "Yes, but the Na'vi had flying dragons and Iranian dissidents do not."
Ahmadinejad stated that he is not worried about Iranians ever posing a challenge to their tyranny, because he said the triumph against tyranny "only happens in Hollywood."
His form of tyranny is an otherwise just sad - no entertaining - story.
