A Chinese state news agency says that aftershocks have cut off roads and telecommunications in quake-hit Sichuan province, burying a number of vehicles.
Xinhua News Agency said the aftershocks hit Lixian, not far from the epicenter of Monday’s 7.9-magnitude earthquake.
The confirmed death toll from the earthquake has risen to 19,509, but the government says that number was expected to more than double.
