Aditya Thackeray to take on Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra

Aiming to counter the challenge posed by the growing clout of Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena will soon launch its youth wing 'Yuva Sena' in the state under the leadership of Aditya Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena's executive chief Uddhav Thackeray, who has been keen to draft potential leaders under 19-year-old Aditya's stewardship.

Yuva Sena will be Shiv Sena's answer to Youth Congress in the state and will have at least 10-15 young MLAs under Aditya Thackeray to lend some muscle to the new wing.

The Shiv Sena is working out the modalities for Yuva Sena and plans to launch the wing on Dussehra, which fallls on October 17. The right wing party wanted its young MLAs and Members of Parliaments to identify and raise the issues that concern the younger generation.

The expectations are quite high from the Yuva Sena, which aims to counter the challenge posed by the growing clout of Rahul Gandhi and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, especially since the party does not really have a youth wing other than the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena, a student wing once represented by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray.

Yuva Sena, immediately after the launch, will be focussing on the caste-based census as the parent party too has opposed it. The party believes that the move announced by the UPA government to go for caste-census will have serious repercussions in future.

Yuva Sena will also be taking up the issue of grading school and college canteens based on their hygiene and sanitation standards as the party thinks that the students have the right to know about the quality of the kitchen that produces the food they are eating in these colleges.
