Abhishek and Vivek: The gulf remains!
Apoorva Lakhia, 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' fame, announced his next film 'Mission Istanbul' starring Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi recently. Surprised? Well, yes the film made news since Vivek Oberoi and Abhishek Bachchan were expected to come together for the first time since the latter's marriage to Vivek's ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai.

But according to the latest buzz, Abhishek Bachchan has backed out of the project owing to the gulf between him and Oberoi. However, at the same time Junior Bachchan doesn't want to upset his friend Lakhia and has agreed to do a small role in the film.
Suniel Shetty's Popcorn Entertainment and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji will jointly produce the film, which is based on Al Qaeda's terrorism network. The shoot will begin from October 1 in Afghanistan, Srinagar, Mumbai and Istanbul.

Since the film is likely to go on the floors soon, Suniel Shetty will now be doing Vivek's role. This seems to be a repetition of the 'Guru' scenario, where Vivek was supposed to play Madhavan's role but he chickened out, as he did not want to share screen space with Abhishek, for the two have a common history named Aishwarya.
Needless to mention the duo were appreciated in their last flick 'Yuva' as good co-stars. And now, at this rate, neither of them are going to have much work left while the industry might lose on some good partnerships!
